The photo above is of my good friend Max with his siblings in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. I was so excited when he asked me to photograph them for a Mother’s Day gift last year. Here’s what he had to say about the experience:

“My sisters and I take a picture each year to give to my parents for their anniversary. We asked Nicole to take it for the first time this year and cannot imagine ever asking anyone else. Taking these pictures has been a difficult task as there is always something we want the photographer to convey that cannot be explained in a short consultation: not too serious, but not too funny, warm but not sappy. Nicole simply got it right and managed to capture exactly what we wanted in almost every shot. In less than an hour, she managed to snap 5 or 6 pictures that now not only sit in my parents’ living room, but also in each of ours as well.”
